I started my practice whilst undertaking a Bachelor of Design (Graphics and Spatial) at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. I am particularly interested in stories that remark on the nuances of cultures and our society. I strated my practice designing independent theatre shows, music videos and short films. I am now set to complete a Masters of Production Design (Screen) from the Victorian College of the Arts by the end of this year.

My design philosophy is rooted in my values. To start, I value curiosity and the ability to fall deep into research for a project. My depth of research is a defining character of my design style. I am fascinated by so many things in the world, especially modern history and learning about different cultures and societies. I value integrity within films and the people who make them. I want to work with people who know their values and what they believe in, as this is how I build trust. I want to make films that have integrity and important or interesting messages, as that is what helps keep me going during the ditches of the design process. I value perspective and the inputs of different people and communities. A film and its design is only enhanced when the understandings and nuances of people and their communities are able to contribute to the storytelling. This also gives the film depth and authenticity. I value open-mindedness and the opportunity to listen and learn from others without pre-conceived prejudices. This goes hand-in-hand with respect and the establishment of a safe space where everyone is able to share, and is valued for their contribution. Being open-minded has also been another defining factor of my design style, as it has led me to design something unexpected, yet still true. I value trust because it is integral to a well-working team. I think people work best when they are trusted to run free with their imaginations, but still meet their responsibilities. Each member of a team is brought on because they are capable of doing what they do. Trusting that they all have a shared interest in the project creates the most fruitful outcomes.
